Lab coat clean, boutique sharp.
Catalog, reimagined.

This is a research compound catalog, and it needed to look the part: precise, premium and very clear about what it is. I built a dark, gold-and-blue catalog with a guided finder, research guides and a private inquiry flow.

The challenge

A long list of compounds needs a map.

A research catalog can turn into a wall of hard-to-pronounce names fast. Visitors need a way to browse by pathway, not by memorizing spellings.

It also needs to be crystal clear on the rules. Every product, guide and form says research use only, not for human consumption. Design can be premium and still be honest.

“When the subject is technical, the design has to be calm. Clean type, lots of room, and nothing shouting.”

What it is, in one line: a premium research catalog where visitors browse compounds by pathway and send a private inquiry.

Meet HELIX

A finder that asks before it lists.

HELIX is a guided finder that narrows the catalog by research pathway before a conversation ever starts. Pick a direction and it filters the field down to what's relevant.

It turns a long catalog into a short, focused list, which is a lot friendlier than a search box and a prayer.

  • Browse by research pathway
  • Short product summaries
  • Clean product detail pages

Compliance in the copy

The research-use-only language isn't buried in a footer. It shows up on products, guides and the inquiry form, right where people make decisions.

The catalog

Dark, gold and lab-coat blue.

The look runs near-black with a warm gold and a crisp research blue. Product cards stay short: a name, the research pathway, and a one-line summary.

Research guides and an FAQ give the educational side its own space, separate from the catalog, so the flow goes learn first, then inquire.

  • Research-use-only notices throughout

Behind the counter

Private inquiries, secure records.

Inquiries go through a private form, and customers get secure, token-based record pages instead of email threads full of details.

A separate provider login keeps credentialed access apart from the public catalog.

On your phone

A whole catalog in your pocket.

HELIX and the catalog cards stack cleanly on a phone, with readable type on the dark background and large tap targets.

The inquiry form is short and thumb-friendly, so nobody has to wait until they're back at a desk.

Under the hood

The stuff you don’t see (but would miss).

Guided filtering

HELIX narrows the catalog by pathway in the browser, no page reloads.

Private form handling

Inquiries post through a form service, not an exposed email address.

Token-based records

Customer record pages use private token links instead of public URLs.

Share cards

Open Graph and Twitter cards so shared links show a clean product preview.

Sitemap

A sitemap.xml keeps the public catalog and guide pages discoverable.

Fast static build

A lean React build that stays quick even with a big catalog.

Good questions

Before you ask me.

Can you build a catalog that filters products by category or pathway?

Yes. This build uses a guided finder called HELIX that narrows the catalog by research pathway before showing results.

How do you handle compliance language on a research site?

I put the required notices where decisions happen: on product pages, guides and the inquiry form, not just the footer.

Can customers have private pages?

Yes. This site uses secure, token-based customer record pages and a separate provider login.

Do you make medical or health claims in the copy?

No. I describe the build and the catalog structure; product copy stays research-focused and the business owns its own claims.

Technical product, premium feel.

If your catalog is complicated, I'll make it feel simple. Tell me what you sell and let's map it.

I do web, you do you.
