Case study · BartonBeef.com

From their pasture
to your freezer.

Barton Beef is a fourth-generation family ranch in Bunnell, Florida, selling ranch-raised Black Angus beef by the half, whole and quarter cow. Jill and Jeremy had a WordPress site that did the job. I rebuilt it from the dirt up so ordering a whole cow feels as easy as ordering a pizza.

  • 4steps to order a cow
  • 27questions answered
  • 15cuts on the cut sheet
  • 5pages + order app
The problem

Nobody knows how to buy a cow.

Most people have never bought beef by the half. How much is it? How much meat is that? Will it fit in my freezer? What on earth is a cut sheet? Jill was answering the same questions by text and email all week long.

So the job wasn’t just a prettier site. It was a site that answers those questions before anyone has to ask, then walks people through the order one easy step at a time.

“Make ordering a whole cow feel as easy as ordering a pizza.”

The goal, in one line: fewer texts for Jill, more halves in freezers, and every order arriving with every answer she needs.

The order app

Four steps. One cow.

Pick a size, answer the cut sheet, add your name and email, choose how you’ll pay at pickup. Done. Jill gets a clean order by email and it’s saved in a database so nothing slips through.

  • Half, whole, quarter or a box of burger
  • A full cut sheet where every cut gets an answer
  • A “Help me choose” option for first-timers
  • $300 Zelle deposit, cash, Zelle or card at pickup
  • Instant email alerts and a saved order log

The part Jill loves most

27 questions, zero phone calls.

Price on the carcass, hanging weight, freezer space, what the cows eat, pickup in Seville. Every question Jill gets asked is on one page, sorted into color-coded topics with a search box that filters as you type.

Each answer is also marked up so Google and AI search can quote it word for word.

On your phone

Built like an app. Ranch tough.

Most folks find Barton Beef from a Facebook share or a friend’s text, so the phone version comes first. A bottom tab bar like an app, a big Order button in the middle, large type and big tap targets.

You can order a half cow standing in line at the feed store.

Real people. Real ranch.

No stock cowboys. The site runs on Jill’s own photos and a video of their own herd grazing. The story page walks through four generations of Florida ranching, from the tick-dipping years to the old cattle drives, right up to Jill and Jeremy today.

The look

Smoky. Warm. Hungry yet?

Charcoal and ember colors, a heavy ranch-sign headline, cream paper sections, and real food photos of their beef cooked up. It looks like the smell of a cast iron skillet on a Sunday.

Who built the site?

Chenzo of Chenzo Designs did the design, development, order app, copy, SEO and photo editing, start to finish.

Can you build an order system like this for my farm or business?

Yes. Custom order forms, cut sheets, booking flows and email alerts are some of my favorite things to build.

Selling something people don’t buy every day?

Big purchases need a site that answers questions before they’re asked. That’s my favorite kind of project. Tell me about yours.

I do web, you do you.
