Lost in Nature Soap homepage designed and built by Chenzo Designs
Case study · LostInNatureSoap.com

You can't smell a website. So I
made it feel outside.

Joy makes small-batch soap, tallow balms, lip butters and mineral soaks in Palm Coast. The products smell like a trail after rain. The website's job was to get that feeling across a screen, which is a fun problem when the internet has no nose.

The vibe

Body care should feel like stepping outside.

That line is Joy's, more or less, and it became the brief. Clean water, warm light, the grounding scent of a hike. Not a spa, not a farmhouse sign, something quieter.

So the homepage opens on a forest-stream film, deep pine greens and cream, with lots of breathing room. The copy is short and a little poetic, then it gets out of the way so you can shop.

“Handmade brands don't need more noise. They need room for the product to breathe.”

What it is, in one line: an immersive brand site for a Palm Coast small-batch soap maker that flows straight into her Shopify store.

Lost in Nature Soap: Bundles
Bundles

The more you gather, the more you save.

Joy wanted bundle pricing that didn't feel like a coupon site. So it's simple and visible right on the homepage: soap bars pair up, lip balms come in trios, mineral soaks pair up.

Mix scents however you want, and the savings apply at checkout. No codes, no math.

  • Build-a-trio lip balms
  • Mineral soak pairs

Field Note No. 01

The homepage reads like pages from a trail journal, numbered field notes instead of marketing headers. It makes scrolling feel like a walk.

Lost in Nature Soap: Meet the maker
Meet the maker

People buy from people, so Joy gets a page.

Small-batch only means something when you know who's doing the batching. The Meet Joy page tells her story, and Our Standard explains the ingredients in plain words: fair-trade butters, essential oils, clay for color.

Then the shop takes over. The collection hands off to her Shopify store so checkout stays solid and simple.

On your phone

Small screen, same deep breath.

Most shoppers find a brand like this from a phone, usually mid-scroll. The forest film, the bundles and the shop button all hold up at thumb size, and the menu tucks away cleanly.

It's quiet on purpose, so the products don't have to shout.

Under the hood

The stuff you don’t see (but would miss).

Brand schema

Brand markup naming Joy as founder and linking the Shopify store.

Shopify integration

Product browsing flows into her existing Shopify checkout.

Lightweight video

The forest film is muted, looped and lazy enough not to slow the page.

Meta and share cards

Unique titles, descriptions and share images for each page.

Accessible motion

Decorative video is hidden from screen readers and respects reduced motion.

Cloudflare hosting

Fast static pages served from the edge.

Good questions

Before you ask me.

Can I keep my Shopify store and get a custom site?

Yes. The brand site handles the story and the browsing, then hands off to Shopify for checkout.

How do bundle deals work on the site?

Shoppers mix and match within a category and the savings apply automatically at checkout, no coupon code needed.

Why have a separate meet-the-maker page?

For handmade brands the maker is part of the product. A real story builds trust that a product grid can't.

Will a video hero slow my site down?

Not if it's done right. Short, compressed, muted loops with a poster image load fast.

Made something by hand? Let's give it a home.

If you've got a small brand with a big feeling behind it, I'd love to help you put that feeling online.

I do web, you do you.
